I quit my job today!

The job situation has been rocky for awhile. I've been promised a change in workload (I asked for MORE, because I was bored sitting around doing nothing but filing all day) and improvements to current processes for over a year now, and no dice.

There have been a few times where problems with clients have been taken out on employees. I never experienced the brunt of one of those until yesterday.

Nobody yells at me. I don't care how upset you are, you just don't.

So I gave my notice this morning. In one month, I will be free! And by free, I mean unemployed.

Don't tell my mother.

She isn't going to hear a WORD of it until I mention one day, btw, I have a new job. The benefit of having over 7000kms between us is she's real easy to keep out of the loop.

I got yelled at work once and it really sucked. :( I had to leave work because I couldn't stop crying. I really can't handle people yelling at me. I didn't quit (which I should have done) because I never did quite feel comfortable working there ever again. So basically, I hope your mom doesn't yell too much because really no one needs to work in that type of environment.

I didn't have to leave, but boy, was I fuming. My problem is that when I get angry, like, reallyreally angry (like I was then), I start to cry. And then people are all, aw, you poor thing, what's wrong, thinking I'm upset, but I'm actually SO ANGRY I WANT TO KILL.

It's an unfortunate reaction.

I start to cry when I reach a certain level of rage too, which just makes it so much worse! But to be honest I get emotional rather easily. I got teary eyed during the first ten minutes of the new Star Trek.

No boss has the right to take client issues out on employees. That crap shouldn't be tolerated. I think you did the right thing.

These be my feelings, yes. The fact that I brought it up with my direct supervisor at the end of the day and was told, 'Well, he's upset,' just solidifies it. I've heard him yelling at her in her office before. She can be a doormat if she wants, but I ain't.

Good for you! Unemployed = suck, but it's better than being employed and miserable. (plus, getting yelled at is simply not acceptable.)

Something else will come along. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. <3

Thankie! :3 I can last a couple of months without income if I have to, but man, who wants to have to do THAT? Temp work, freelance work, I'm sure I'll be able to find something to hold me over until I get another position.
