Those people are pretty much the sort who'll find any reason to be cruel or negative, and they're the last people you should consider when you're deciding if you want to cosplay. Some of the best cosplayers on my flist aren't people with "perfect" figures and they get a good deal of recognition for having well-constructed or unique costumes, not because they manage to look exactly like a character. (Besides, in person, if you manage to stay IC, it's really impressive, no matter the accuracy level :p).
...and i don't stress over the reposting at places like that. i've rearranged my school of thought on the matter and i've actually adopted a creative commons license for my work in general.
