oh oh oh, this is fabulous! It's just a perfect fusion of bookverse and movieverse; how do you do that? This made me feel all kinds of heartache right along with Holmes as he watched Watson spiral downwards and spiralled downwards himself, and then all kinds of relief when Holmes finally got up the courage to live again. Such a lovely story! Beautifully characterized (I loved Watson killing Moriarty's men in cold blood, and Holmes lurking in England for years being a stalker, and Mary being too smart to try to compete with a memory) and with such a great sense of atmosphere, too. Hurrah! I loved it.
